  AIR CHINA FARE SALE TO 17 CITIES IN CHINA

  Air China has just launched a new fare sale from US to 
  Guangzhou, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Shenyang, Shanghai, Beijing,
  Changchun, Harbin, Qingdao, Yantai, Chengdu, Chongqing,
  Fuzhou, Xiamen, Shenzhen, Wenzhou and Guiyang.  Roundtrip
  fare starts from $674, and oneway fare starts from $381.
  The fare is  valid for travel commencing before Dec. 8,
  2004 or between Dec. 26, 2004 and Mar. 24, 2005.  Air
  China offers same-day seemless connecting flights via
  Beijing, and allows you to travel within China with
  international baggage allowance (2 pieces) instead of
  the 20kg China domestic baggage limit when you buy your
  Air China domestic flights with your Air China

  GUANGZHOU OPENED NEW BAIYUN AIRPORT

  Guangzhou's new Baiyun International Airport, opened on
  August 5, 2004, serves as a new hub for domestic and
  international traffic. Northwest Airlines and United
  Airlines are eager to take the advantage of the new
  modern airport, and will launch daily service between
  US and Guangzhou.  See more details below.

  CHINA SOUTHERN JOINS SKYTEAM GLOBAL ALLIANCE

  China Southern Airlines joins SkyTeam, becoming the
  first Chinese airline to join a global air alliance.
  SkyTeam is led by Delta Airlines. The new Baiyun
  International Airport in Guangzhou is expected to
  serve as the first hub airport in China for SkyTeam.

  NORTHWEST AIRLINES TO FLY TO GUANGZHOU

  Northwest Airlines will begin offering new daily service
  from Detroit to Guangzhou, China, through its Pacific hub
  at Tokyo beginning October 31, 2004. 

  The new flight will also provide convenient, daily 
  single-connection service between Guangzhou and seven 
  U.S. gateways served by Northwest including Honolulu,
  Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Portland, San Francisco
  and Seattle.

  UNITED MAY FLY SAN FRANCISCO-GUANGZHOU

  United Airlines filed an application with the U.S. DOT
  to launch daily, nonstop service between San Francisco
  and Guangzhou. If approved, United intends to begin San
  Francisco-Guangzhou service using Boeing 777 aircraft
  via Tokyo in March 2005 and upgrade it to nonstop
  Boeing 747 service in 2006. United is the only U.S.
  airline with nonstop service from the U.S. to China,
  with three daily, nonstop flights: San Francisco-Beijing,
  San Francisco-Shanghai and Chicago-Beijing. United on
  Oct. 31, 2004 will begin daily, nonstop service between
  Chicago and Shanghai.

  AMERICAN, DELTA, CONTINENTAL SEEK TO FLY TO CHINA

  American Airlines said it will seek the US DOT's
  permission to begin daily nonstop service between
  Chicago and Shanghai, starting May 1, 2005.  From
  Shanghai, American said it would offer connections
  to several Chinese cities through its partnership
  with China Eastern Airlines, which is based in
  Shanghai and is that city's largest carrier.

  Meanwhile, Delta asked the DOT to grant it
  permission to fly daily nonstop service between
  Atlanta and Beijing starting in 2006. 

  Not to be outdone in China, Continental Airlines
  applied to begin two routes to China from its
  Newark hub.  Continental wants permission to
  inaugurate service to Beijing in the spring of
  2005 and to Shanghai in the spring of 2006.
  Continental already flies from Newark to Hong Kong.
